Visit the Saas Museum and discover treasures from the history of the Saas Valley.
|
| What is today the museum of Saas used to be the vicarage of Saas-Fee. It was built in 1732 and an additional floor was added in 1855. After the community meeting unanimously voted to renovate the building, the museum of Saas was opened in 1983. The Saas Museum, which due to its large variety of exhibits is one of the most visited museums in the Valais, has four stories with exhibits on the following themes among others: a Saas Valley home from the turn of the century, traditional artefacts, costumes from the Saas Valley, the early days of summer and winter tourism, local rocks, our glaciers, religious art and Carl Zuckmayer's original study. Changing exhibitions on various subjects round off the museum's offer.
