As long ago as 1950, when the road to Saas-Fee was built, the citizens of Saas-Fee decided that the village should remain car-free. Today, more than 50 years later, more and more people appreciate the peace and quiet and the clean air of a car-free resort. People who suffer from allergies in particular can recuperate in a climate with low amounts of dust and allergens, since the air above an altitude of 1500 m is very low in pollen!
