A via ferrata is a climbing route which is at all times secured with wire cables and where needed with ladders. For experienced mountain hikers who have a good head for heights it represents an intermediate stage between hiking in the mountains and rock climbing. Various via ferrate in the area provide plenty of fun and adventure.

The via ferrata at the Jägihorn, 3206m above sea-level
The Panorama via ferrata on the Jägihorn offers pure climbing enjoyment and is one of the most beautiful in the entire Switzerland. You can rent equipment in the sport shops.

The via ferrata at the Mittaghorn 3143m above sea-level
Every Wednesday or on request.
It is an easy to medium-difficulty via ferrata. When you reach the summit you are rewarded with a fabulous view of the four-thousand-metre peaks of the Saas Valley which surround you.

The Via Ferrata del Lago
This via ferrata takes you from the Almagell Valley to the Antrona Valley in Italy. When the weather is good you can see as far as Lake Maggiore. It can be undertaken from the beginning of July until the end of September and is recommended to be undertaken as a 2-day tour.

The Saas-Grund mini-via ferrata
The ultimate experience above the roofs of Saas-Grund. A fairly short, but exciting via ferrata which is bound to impress newcomers too. And as a highlight: a 40-metre abseiling experience!

Climbing garden Furggstalden

Redeveloped kids- and beginners-climbing garden placed on smooth

terrain. First climbing steps can be learned in a funny way. The latest

climbing maps are available at the tourist office Saas-Almagell or at the

mountain guides' offices.
